Tania Waikato

Tania Waikato (Ngāti Awa, Tūhoe, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Hine, Te Whakatōhea) is a Māori lawyer and fierce advocate for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, known for her work in litigation, constitutional issues, and Māori rights. With over two decades of experience, she uses both the courtroom and public platforms to challenge systems and make complex legal issues accessible to our people.

Now standing for the Green Party in the Waiariki electorate, Tania brings that same unapologetic voice into politics—continuing to stand for justice, accountability, and the protection of Te Tiriti in Aotearoa.
